Company Structure
Nov. 15, 2009 -
Nov 13, 2010
|
C Company, also known as Secession Company, is comprised of
several different regiments, the 6th, 8th, 12th, 21st, and 26th. These
five regiments of C Company represent one of five other
South Carolina Infantry Companies, A, B, E, G, H. Together
these six companies form to create the Palmetto Battalion.
The
Palmetto Battalion is a state wide umbrella group
representing all local reenacting units. The battalion also includes one
company of artillery and one company of cavalry.
The five
regiments of C Company meet annually to elect, by limit of
five votes per regiment, to cast or divide as deemed
necessary, those individuals of the group who
will represent and lead the company as Officers and
Noncommissioned Officers (NCO's) throughout the upcoming new year.
Below is a chart
displaying the results of
the last election. It reflects the command structure of Officers
and NCO's of the
company through the year 2009. These elected individuals
were selected by you, its membership. If
you have questions or concerns to present to these individuals regarding
important matters of the company please
use the information below to contact them. |

Unit Reps are
responsible for remaining in touch with the members of their
unit and notifying them...
|
|
1)- |
...well in
advance of all upcoming reenactments and other special
events along with their specific dates, locations and times. |
|
2)- |
...of all
important issues or concerns regarding the company or
battalion such as event updates, bylaws, elections or safety
issues. |
|
It is also the
Unit Reps responsibility to report to the Captain those
members of their unit who...
|
|
3)- |
...will
or will not be in attendance during an upcoming
event. A better event can be planned when it's known in
advance the numbers participating. |
|
4)- |
...will be participating with
the company kitchen for their meals during an event. A head
count helps assure there's plenty of food for everyone. |
|
5)- |
...might have a need to borrow
some equipment or a uniform item.
|
|
|
Unit Reps aren't
just responsible for the passing along of information to
their members. They are also the primary people responsible
for the promotion and recruiting of their respective units.
A good Unit Rep can be very instrumental in the growth of
their unit through this process and as a direct result of
their efforts provide additional benefit to the company and
battalion by increasing their numbers.
If your Unit Rep
hasn't contacted you recently in regards to your attending
an event or to provide you with updates regarding your unit,
company or battalion then perhaps it's time to find a new
rep for your group.
Lack of
communication is one of our biggest problems. Likewise it
should be one of our biggest concerns and objectives to
eliminate. We can't expect results if we can't do the work
necessary to provide it. |

This list contains the name of
each active or inactive member of the company along with their contact
info. The info consists of a mailing address, email address and home/cell
phone number. As we have new recruits fall in with us it is my intention
to have their contact info listed here also.
Unfortunately, this list is not
up-to-date. You can make this possible though by downloading the list
and reviewing your information for errors. If for
any reason your information is incorrect, or is simply not listed or
perhaps you'd like to add a cell phone to your existing home phone, then
please contact me at
ggoins@6thregimentsc.org so I can make the necessary updates.
Please note the list is password
protected and only made available to C Co. members. The password will
change periodically... Just another reason why it's important to keep
your info up-to-date so you can be notified when changes do come about.

Event Schedule - 2010
The following
event schedule is reflective of all events pertaining to
the Palmetto Battalion. It also includes any scheduled
event (ie. memorials, living histories, recruitments,
etc) presented and supported by the individual regiments
of C Company. The info is provided here in an effort to
help bolster support for the event by other members of
the company whenever possible.
Planning ahead to
attend an event, well in advance of its scheduled date, will
in most cases help avoid the possible conflicts we all know
can and will arise later. Place these events on your
calendar now to help assure your attendance and
participation. Doing so will help maintain the strength of
our company at all events we participate in throughout the
year. |
